The Triumph of the Ego

November 5, 2007

All hail our savior, our general, our commander in chief, the implementer of justice who will bless this anarchy with something called democracy… someday or the other.

Our general is reported to have said that he and he alone can lead Pakistan to democracy. Certainly, I do not wish to disagree with him for the fear of my little blog being “blacked out”.

Despite all hate on the net and within myself, I am amazed by his talents. This man has taken hostage a nation, USA and world peace all at once. I am surprised by his skills to manipulate the situation and still find something positive to inflate his ego. Unquestionably, he is the best we have produced so far, and I certainly do not desire for more.

Here is some food for thought

Pentagon press secretary Geoff Morrell said the supply lines are “very real areas of concern” because about 75 percent of the supplies, including 40 percent of vehicle fuel supplies, either go through or over Pakistan.

Here is the map of countries around Afghanistan

So lets see, China will not do the job fr them, Ahmadenijad would rather sing Holocaust songs than help them, Uzbekistan has this little problem of “Islamism” (plus it kicked US out of its bases), Turkmenistan is no exception when it comes to soviet-style leadership with “Islamic” touch.

Now let me think, how would America get supplies to its soldiers? what is the most reliable and shortest route? Obviously its Pakistan!

Bewee, TV aur Emergency

November 3, 2007

So its now a reality, the much awaited emergency has now been imposed.

As almost all channels are off the air, people are now at the mercy of endless propaganda campaign on state-run PTV. The new propaganda punchline being used is : “farq parhta hai sahi faislay say sahi qayadat say” (Right leadership and right decisions make a difference). There is a subliminal message here “farq parhta hai Emergency say aur Gadee say” (Emergency and Seat make a difference… really!). Not to mention our very own poster-boy cum dictator is all over the television.

However, Begum Musharraf may not have liked the idea of emergency as it would deprive her and other Begmaat of Dramas on Indian Channels. So avoid their wrath, our president has allowed Star Plus and ARY Digital to be unblocked. Dont mess with the Begumaat, its worse than the emergency.

An “ordinance” has been issued, Judges are warned not to overstep and meddle with administrative affairs.

Life is normal here, we didn’t even feel the pain. I must give due credit to President for executing such difficult maneuver with such dexterity.

The Kid who Wrecked Havoc

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 31 (Xinhua) — Prosecutors in California Wednesday were mulling over whether to file charges against a 10-year-old boy who admitted that he started a fire last week that destroyed more than 20 homes near Los Angeles.

The boy, who has not been named by authorities, told investigators that he was playing with matches when he set fire to dry brush on Oct. 21, when strong desert winds fueled various wildfires throughout the region. Source

Meanwhile …

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – California wildfires pumped nearly 8 million metric tons of climate-warming carbon dioxide into the atmosphere in just a week, about one-quarter as much as fossil fuels do in that state in a month, scientists said on Wednesday. Source

As if it was not all…

San Francisco – A 3.7 magnitude earthquake shook the San Francisco Bay Area on Wednesday, one day after a stronger temblor rattled the region in a jarring reminder of the area’s vulnerability to a “Big One”.

No injuries or damage were reported from the quake, which struck near the epicentre of Tuesday’s 5.7 magnitude tremor, the most powerful to strike the densely populated region for nearly 20 years. Source
